Submission Guidelines

We encourage submissions of original and fundamental research that significantly adds to the field of study. The key requirement is that the paper must be completely new and unpublished, ensuring the journal’s integrity by not recycling previously published materials. We are particularly interested in research that is empirical (based on observed and measured phenomena), contributing new data or insights.

The Universal Multidisciplinary Research Journal does not accept papers like book reviews or commentaries, unless they are well-researched and include complete references and citations. These must follow academic standards to ensure that the commentary or review is substantiated by prior literature or evidence.

Editing Requirements:

To ensure consistency and professionalism, the journal has the following formatting rules:

Paper Format: Submissions must be on A4-sized paper, which is the standard international paper size.

Font & Spacing:

  • The text should be typed in Times New Roman font, size 12, which is readable and commonly used in academic publishing.
  • Line spacing should be set at 1.5, which makes the paper easy to read and allows space for editors or reviewers to leave comments.

Margins:

  • There should be a 1-inch margin on all four sides. This ensures that text doesn’t get too close to the edges, making the document easy to print and read.

Title:

  • The title of the paper should be bold, with each major word capitalized (called “Title Case”). It must also be centered on the page to make it stand out clearly from the rest of the document.

Body Text:

  • The main content of the paper should be justified (aligned evenly on both the left and right sides) to give it a professional, clean look.
  • The font used for the body text must also be Times New Roman, size 12, maintaining uniformity throughout the document.

Length of the Paper:

  • The journal prefers papers to be between 2500 to 4000 words. This length allows for a thorough exploration of the topic without being overly long. Submissions must balance between depth and conciseness to present meaningful research within this range.

Accompanying Information:

Each submission must include the following additional documents, integrated into the same file as the paper (to simplify the submission process and avoid confusion with multiple attachments):

Declaration of Originality: This is a formal statement confirming that your research is entirely original and has not been published anywhere else. It’s crucial for ensuring the journal publishes only unique content.

Bio-note:

  • This is a short biography about the author(s), including their name, institutional affiliation (the organization or University they are associated with), a brief career history, and contact details such as postal address, mobile number, and email address.
  • This information should be placed at the end of the paper to give editors and readers an understanding of the author’s background and credentials.

It’s important to include all these details in one document to streamline the submission process and avoid confusion or multiple attachments.

Figures and References:

Figures, tables, and illustrations:

  • If your paper includes visual elements such as tables, charts, or figures, they should be numbered consecutively and referenced properly in the text.
  • You must provide acknowledgment of the source below each figure or table if the data or images are derived from other works.

References:

  • The reference list should only include works that you have directly cited in your paper.
  • These references should be arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name.
  • You must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) format for citations and references. This ensures a consistent, widely-recognized citation style is used across the journal.

Copyright Declaration:

Before the paper is accepted for final publication, you are required to submit a copyright declaration. This document grants the journal permission to publish your work and confirms that the content does not infringe on any copyrights. It’s an important legal step to avoid future disputes over the rights to the published material.

Mode of Submission:

You should submit your complete paper, along with the declaration and bio-note, as a single MS Word attachment via email to umrjournal@gmail.com.

The submission deadline is the last day of each month, so make sure to complete your paper and meet all the submission guidelines before this final date. This ensures that your paper will be considered for the next issue.
